I recently acquired the Eric Clapton Band in Japan backing George Harrison on Beatle and solo Harrison material. Clapton and Harrison harmonize well together. George added an extra verse and bridge in Taxman. In part: "If you wipe your feet I'll tax the mat, if you go away I'll tax your cat, taxman Mr. Baker, taxman Mr. Bush."
I don't know; was Clapton's 1991 drummer Steve Ferrone? Whoever it was he had the Ringo snare sound down.

Yeah, Steve Ferrone had the gig with Clapton in the beginning of the 90's. I Think he switched to Steve Gadd when he came in contact with him through them playing in the supergroup The Legends.
Was a killerband. David Sanborn, Joe Sample, Marcus Miller, Steve Gadd and Eric Clapton.

I have an alternate theory as to how Steve Gadd got the Clapton gig. In a cover story Modern Drummer interview Steve Ferrone stated something like: "The band is ready to go but it takes about two weeks for Eric to get his chops back. He doesn't like for his fans to know he doesn't play guitar at home when he's off the road."
That's a constant that makes me sick about MD interviewees; they praise their employers to the skies in print. Even if they can't stand them. Ferrone is great, but he could take a lesson from them.
